As we age, there's a prevailing stereotype that life becomes more serious and less enjoyable. However, seniors at Life Care Services communities are proving that aging doesn't mean letting go of the fun.

Residents of Green Hills Retirement Community in Ames, Iowa, and Atlantic Shores in Virginia Beach, recently showcased their vibrant spirit by jumping on popular social media trends, bringing joy and laughter to their communities.

During half-time at an Iowa State University Men's Basketball game, residents of Green Hills Retirement Community stole the show by performing the “Juicy Wiggle.” Alongside the cheerleading team, the senior residents not only entertained the crowd but also challenged preconceived notions about what it means to grow older. Their enthusiasm and energy radiated, proving that embracing joy knows no age limits.

Meanwhile, across the country at Atlantic Shores in Virginia Beach, residents took center stage at an Old Dominion University basketball game, showcasing their dance moves to the tune of "Ice Cream and Cake." The spirited performance, as reported by The Virginian-Pilot, not only delighted the audience but also emphasized the importance of staying connected with contemporary culture.

These fun and uplifting occurrences exemplify the vibrant and active lifestyles that seniors living in Life Care Services communities enjoy daily. By embracing social media trends and participating in activities that bring joy and laughter to them as well as others around them, these seniors are not only challenging stereotypes but also inspiring others to live life to the fullest, regardless of age.

These examples from Green Hills and Atlantic Shores serve as a testament to the fact that seniors can actively engage with the world around them, fostering a sense of community and connection. It's a reminder that the pursuit of happiness is timeless, and that age should never be a barrier to having fun.
